I was stressed. I was crying. I had ZERO breaks. I had no SOCIAL LIFE. Lost the girl of my life. 😭 Was it worth it?

See, Maa and Paa gave up their life savings, sacrificed their dreams, to fulfil my and sis’ dreams education is so costly in India, its hard for a middle class family to afford an SUV back in 2014, dad bought a 2nd owned HyundaiIndia EoN for ₹2Lakhs and….

So, in April! I decided to take a challenge to Gift Dad his DREAM CAR by 2024 end! Real challenge was? I had to do it without touching my Job’s Salary. Why? There’s no fun without a little challenge right? My only way of doing it was…

that car has still been going strong! but something happened in 2023 I cracked my DREAM JOB and moved to Bangalore, so I transported the EoN here. Little did I know that parents were really using the car more than I ever will in Bangalore! 🥲 I felt sad!

We didn’t have any sponsors for 1-2 month, which means I was burning cash. I was down to my last ₹1.50L and given I have a full time writer intern with fixed stipend of ₹15K, I was panicking. I had a runway for a few months, then the email dropped. Got my first ₹1L sponsor!

It was hard! YouTube wasn’t working, none of freelance gigs were closing, nothing I did actually worked! I almost gave up! Then I got a text from a guy who wanted for us to shoot a podcast at Marriott . I was nervous, it was my first shoot! We made ₹50K in 2hr 🏃

But the goal was ₹12Lakh! So ₹50K was nothing in-front of it. 😭 But we still tried! Job got busier and I wasn’t getting time for recording videos for my video. Then, HeyGen_Official elevenlabsio Hailuo_AI dropped their AI tools. (not sponsored) My AI Avatar was born!

It saved me time to focus on - Content Research - Storytelling Scripts - Better Thumbnails and after a few failures, we had success! Our videos went from 10K views to 100K+ views! (X denotes how much of an outlier it was compared to channel average)

But YouTube Adsense is peas right? I was WRONG again! Its peas if you have India/Bangladesh (etc) audience, but if you have US/UK/Germany audience? This video is not even a 2 minute video and made around ₹57,000/- (and continues) with 596K views with only 34% 🇮🇳.

Also, maa has sacrificed too much! She fought for me when I wanted to study out of West Bengal and more. She didn’t have any asset under her name. Dad is independent, maa isn’t. So, got it registered under my maa name, she can call this truly hers! Ik car isn’t an asset but

Given I had a fulltime job. I had to work 7 days a week. Yes! 7 days a week 12hrs a day ZERO breaks ZERO vacations Blood, toil, rejections. I still remember, after coming back from job, I used to go and pitch my ‘Motion Design’ skills to some business owners. it wasn’t enough!

We double down on our research and reverse-engineered what worked! And we replicated the results! We studied everything! A small change in contrast, theme, text patterns and more. I was still burning a lot of cash hiring people and to study the macros and micros.

There’s no PRICE to the happiness of our parents. So, yes! December, 2024 Gifted my parents, HyundaiIndia CRETA 😭 But, did the car (materialistic achievement) bring any happiness?

No, but Yes! Parents were already happy with me. I enjoyed and smiled - walking with them - riding on a tuktuk with them - driving on our car with them Happiness came before, not after!
