I’m taking a jab at quick breakfast recipes to hopefully curb the ordering in that I tend to do from online delivery.
So without much banter, let’s get right into it.
Time needed
- Preparation: 5 minutes
- Cooking time: 3-5 minutes per pancake
List of Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups flour/maida
- 1 ½ tablespoon baking powder
- ½ tablespoon vanilla essense (optional
- ¼ teaspoon salt, or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional or add more to taste)
- 1 ¼ cups cow milk/soy milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
How do I make pancakes?
- Take a large bowl and put a mesh/steel strainer on top of it
- Add dry ingredients (maida, baking powder) to the strainer and start straining the contents till all flour is in the bowl
- Make a small hole/well in the center and all the other ingredients
- Start mixing until you reach a thick batter consistency
- Hack: Add everything after straining directly into a large mixer jar if you’re feeling lazy
- Heat an tawa on low heat and pour a small amount of batter
- Hack: Once your batter is ready, take one old plastic bottle (a 750 ML Coke/Thumbs Up bottle works best) pour the batter into the bottle.
Its easier to hold the bottle and control the amount of batter that flows out and when done, you can easily close up the bottle and store the batter :)
- Hack: Once your batter is ready, take one old plastic bottle (a 750 ML Coke/Thumbs Up bottle works best) pour the batter into the bottle.
- Once you start seeing small bubbles pop on the top, its ready to flip
- Flip it using a non-stick ready spatula/flat head (wood, teflon)
Serving
Make a stack of 3-4 pancakes and serve with icing sugar dusted on top, with a syrup of choice (Maple, honey, Hersheys Chocolate syrup, etc)
You can use the same sieve to dust sugar on top of the pancakes as well
